Fleet Training based on the SAFED program Safe And Fuel Efficient Driving techniques
Fleet training courses are a valuable tool in reducing running costs for vehicle operators. The training can be delivered to drivers of any type of vehicle with a view to meeting some if not all of the aims listed below:
1. Increased fuel efficiency
2. Reduced wear and tear
3. Reduced accident figures
4. Reducing the environmental impact of vehicle operations
5. Reduced driver fatigue
6. Develop a driver’s ability to read the road and plan in advance
Many drivers have never had any structured driver training since having passed their test. In many cases they fail to drive the vehicle as per the style and technique envisaged by the vehicle designer. They fail to make use of the technical features available and in conjunction with an out dated driving style they fail to maximize the potential of the vehicle. It should be stressed that this is not a criticism of the driver, often achievable targets are missed as a result of the lack of training.
